The official trailer for the new season of Heroes. I am really really looking forward to Sept. 21st! The only problem I have is, well there are two. Claire jumping off or falling or whatever in front of the world to see, and Hiro dying! Peter as an awesome paramedic is cool. Wow, give baby Matt Parkman an Oscar for the best terrified face I have ever seen. Is that CG?
Woah! I did not know what to expect when I pressed play. The CG is amazing. Wow! It won't break records like Cameron's last movie Titanic, but it will do well. Yay for an original movie!

Remember how Blizzard trademarked the name Cataclysm in July? It appears it's the name of the next World of Warcraft expansion.
WoW.com, citing "multiple sources close to the situation," claims that World of Warcraft: Cataclysm will be the third expansion for the wildly popular MMORPG. They also state that Cataclysm will add two new playable races to the game: the werewolf-like Worgen will join the Alliance while the Horde will accept the little green Goblins into their ranks.
BlizzCon 2009 will take place on August 21st and 22nd. If this rumor is legit, one would expect some sort of announcement from Blizzard during that time.
WHY does Alliance get all the cool characters? The only somewhat decent one for chicks in Horde is the Blood Elf. Too bad I've gone cold turkey for the time being. I'm bound to relapse at some point.

Late this week Interweb chatter in the geekverse spiked twice. First over the release of the San Diego Comic Con schedule for later this month. It revealed that, due to conference-hall scheduling, James Cameron-worshiping fanboys drooling for a peek at some Avatar footage might have to push and shove in line with rabid Twihards squealing for a New Moon presentation and a possible Bobby Pattinson appearance. Oh, the indignation! Oh, the humanity! Oh, the deadly spread of cooties!
The second web-shaking news was of more interest to the general movie-going public. There had been a month of speculation that Hangover-hot Bradley Cooper was a likely shoo-in to play Hal Jordan in the film adaptation of DC Comic’s Green Lantern. (To be directed by Martin Campbell of the Zorro films, Goldeneye, and Casino Royale.) But then came news this past week that in fact three actors were in contention to wear the Lantern’s Power Ring (not to be confused with Sauron’s Ring of Power—totally different geek rings): Cooper, Ryan Reynolds, and Justin Timberlake.
And on Friday Warner Brothers announced that instead of the presumed Cooper it would be Reynolds playing the hot-shot test pilot-turned-intergalactic cop in the live-action superhero flick. This comes after the word in May that Marvel Films would develop a Deadpool spin-off film from X-Men Origins: Wolverine, with Reynolds reprising his role as the wisecracking, fourth-wall-breaking “merc with a mouth.” Having played Marvel vampire hunter Hannibal King in Blade: Trinity, and once on tap to play DC’s Flash (that project is currently stalled out), Reynolds could now become the first actor ever to play heroes for both Marvel and their long-time rival DC. (UPDATED CORRECTION: As reader Jeremy F. points out, this is not true! Halle Berry played Storm for Marvel in the X-Men films and starred as Catwoman in the kinda horrific DC adaptation.)

So I was finally able to speak with an adviser from the nursing school I could attend. I have at least four more years of hard college ahead. Having all of that work laid out in front of me is tiring. Or it could be that I got up at 4:30 this morning. Either way, it's what I make of it right? Well it will be work, but if I do it right all that work will pay off majorly. The point of this is to work hard now, so I don't have to work hard later. I have hope. Wait that's Katara's line. I am determined. I was called that once. It has to be true. Determination = eventually good results.

"Empire chatted with Ryan Reynolds and asked him an interesting question about the upcoming "X-Men" spin-off, Deadpool, in which he'll reprise his role from the "Wolverine" movie.
Reynolds says Deadpool will breach the fourth wall: "Break the fourth wall? Oh yeah, he's got to. I want to see him break the Great Wall"... "The studio's working on a script and trying to find a director. The main goal is to make sure it stays close to the source material."
So does Reynolds feel under pressure from fanboys? “I’m one of them. I’ve always been a fan, at least for the last eight or nine years. I feel a bit of validation because I knew going into Wolverine that there’s a huge fanbase for this and I don’t think anyone else did."

Over at Road & Track.com they scooped a picture of Tony Stark's Race Car for the upcoming Iron Man 2 starring Robert Downey Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow, Scarlett Johansson, and Mickey Rourke.
This looks really good. Don't quite remember it in the book... but who cares anymore haha. Really good stuff. All the way down to Tonks changed hair color from it's usual brightness.

I saw 'Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen' at the midnight showing, and then again on Sunday. Of course the midnight showing was sold out, but not as quickly as The Dark Knight or some previous Harry Potters. There was overall hype, but again not as much as I have seen before. One review I agree with is over at Seattlepi.com:
"For some reason Michael Bay & Co thought it was a good idea to have a bunch of sexual overtones. I'm still not sure what that added to the movie... Some of the language was harsh as well."
With a staff of writers isn't it possible to come up with something better? I guess the language appeals to a broad audience?
"The action scenes in Revenge of the Fallen were much better than 2007's Transformers. It was hard to watch some of action sequences in the first movie. A lot of the shots were really tight which made it hard to focus on what was even happening."
I could actually follow who was getting their butt kicked and who was winning within the fight. I can dissect these scenes, instead of just zoning out until they are done.
"More robots! More robots! I as happy to see they added more characters to the movie. Some of them went really undeveloped, but it was still good to see new characters in a few scenes."
Me gusto mucho. More characters = More awesome cars.
Speaking about new cars. I did not notice that the new Chevy Cruze, which I have mentioned before, and the Chevy Volt were in 'Transformers: RotF' until I watched it a second time. The Volt looks pretty in purple. It's shown briefly... I can't remember when. If you blink you will miss it. I found a picture of it over at Autoindustrie.blogspot.com, which is really an informative blog about cars.
In the opening scenes the Cruze is used as a Shanghai cop car. I was excited when I saw the Cruze, I had to look online to make sure it was there, and not a new Impala, Cobalt or something... I cannot find an image of the Cruze dressed up as it was in Transformers.
Also, does Michael Bay mention previous films of his in all of his movies? In the first Transformers one of the kids running to see the fallen "comet" says something to the effect of "This is so much better than Armageddon". Then in Revenge of the Fallen Shia LaBeouf paints all over a Bad Boys II poster.
Hmm my favorite number is seven... so lets give 'Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen' on the basis of really awesome blowout fight scenes and shiny cars but unneeded language and super weak plot... three out of seven. I would watch it again, but not a million times.

I knew that all throughout LotR there is a green message; Sarumon was industry that was destroying the Earth. Especially in The Two Towers. I did not know that others used it to promote their own ideals. When couples used LotR as a theme for their weddings, Tolkien was upset. I don't think he would be very happy with this either.

Here be the music video for Linkin Park's new track, 'New Divide'. The song will be in or after 'Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen' which comes out June 24th. 'New Divide' proceeds 'What I've Done', the track LP did for the first Transformers in 2007.
MTV just scored exclusive goodness about Ryan Reynolds and his upcoming project centered around Deadpool.
“I love it, because I get to be involved,” Reynolds said of his role in the fast-tracked development of a Deadpool spin-off film. “And I’m such a huge fan of the character.”It's (almost) always a good thing when an actor has so much time invested in a film. I don't know very much about the character Deadpool, but if Ryan Reynolds is involved, I'm in!

Firstly, del Toro had what could be considered somewhat of a casting scoop. (Even though we've pretty much carried on the past years "knowing" it was going to happen.) Andy Serkis will return as Gollum, Ian McKellen will return as Gandalf, and Hugo Weaving will return as Elrond, all reprising their Lord of the Rings trilogy roles. Again, most any given fan would likely have never even thought that they would NOT return. However, it's still a warm and fuzzy feeling to at least get that little bit of news, straight from the horse's mouth."

I don't know about you, but this picture is my favorite out of the bunch at MTV.com. These Chevy cars are the new Trax and Beat and of course the Camaro.
The Beat was one of three Chevrolets concept cars shown to the public. There was an online vote to see which the people wanted to see go into production and the Beat won. “The Avengers”: Feige would like to see the Hulk show up, possibly as the movie’s central villain (or antagonist) that spurs the creation of the Avengers to face the threat. And since he signs the checks, I’m going to guess he’ll get his wish. Also, Zak Penn will begin his draft of the movie next week and work through the summer. Feige also confirms that Sam Jackson and Scarlett Johansson (who will be playing the Black Widow in “Iron Man 2″) have already been signed up for the movie.

Favreau added: “I don’t want to blow anything, and also I don’t honestly know where it’s all going to land. I know that there are sort things that have been discussed and tried and talked about. I know at the end of the day on the Horizon is The Avengers, and the idea is to have chapters of all of the characters that would contribute to being The Avengers. … Hopefully, we’re all going toward The Avengers.”

USA Today reveals the first images of M. Night Shyamalan's The Last Airbender.
Twelve-year-old black belt Noah Ringer portrays Aang, the last air bender.
Dev Patel, known as Jamal from Slumdog Millionaire,
portrays Zuko, prince of the fire nation.
I have one problem with the article:
One picture I want to see is of Jackson Rathbone, or Jasper from Twilight, as Sokka. In Twilight he hardly showed any emotion, but that is part of the role. Apparently he is a pretty funny guy, which is important since Sokka is the sole comic relief.
With all the different element bending there will have to be a lot of good special effects. But with Michael Dante DiMartino, one of the original creators, working on the film the story should be preserved well. Having watched the series, I am hoping and praying this will turn out well. The plan seems to be to make a movie for each of the three books (Water, Earth, Fire) the same as the original series.
The cartoon series ended last year with Book Three: Fire.

First impressions: Looks like it's taking The Dark Knight approach to remakes. Tough and gritty with some witty humor. I love Rachel McAdams and I'm excited to see her here. But I have a problem with Robert Downey's accent. Okay, okay so he is linguistically talented we already knew that; here is just seems off for some reason. Jude Law looks promising. He reminds me of Paul Bettany in Master and Commander. Plus, I did not know Hans Zimmer was the composer for this movie. Yay :)
The new (and improved?) Sherlock Holmes will be in theaters December 25th.

I won't go to a movie just because Johnny Depp is in it. But Johnny Depp, AND Christian Bale? Even David Wenham! Secretly this is who I will be watching for... The trailer before Fast and Furious sent chills up my spine. A good sign.
